# What is iAUSD

iAUSD is the first halal yield-bearing stablecoin. It's an output of our zero interest lending protocol [iA Borrow](/inshallah/ia-borrow/ia-borrow-intro.md).&#x20;

iAUSD is 100% backed by Solana and its yield comes from Solana staking. For more info on how it's made and where its yield comes from, check out [How is iAUSD made?](/inshallah/iausd-stablecoin/how-is-iausd-made.md)[<br>](/inshallah/iausd-stablecoin/how-is-iausd-made.md)\
iAUSD serves two primary goals:

1. **Stable Value with Halal Yield**: iAUSD is pegged to 1 USD and earns a portion of the staking yield, making it an appealing investment for low-risk investors seeking halal returns without exposure to crypto volatility.
2. **Enhanced Liquidity**: minted iAUSD can be used to cover expenses without selling the user's crypto assets. iAUSD can be easily swapped for USDC or other crypto assets like SOL to cover daily expenses or to engage in leveraged trading without paying interest.
